Styke at it again

VICTORY: Styke hammers his way through a Hervey Bay berm on his way to victory. JERVIS Bay rider Luke Styke has started the second half of the national MX2 motocross championship by hammering his way to an impressive round win at Hervey Bay, further increasing his championship lead.Styke dominated round six of the 10 round series by winning the first two motos of the three moto final, then cruised to fourth place in the third moto to claim the overall round for his Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racing Team.Styke used great starts, smart race craft and good speed to put the squeeze on his opponents and stretch his lead in the championship to 46 points.“Today was all about the start and getting good track position in the first couple of turns,” Styke said after the race.“I focused heavily on the start and used a Pirelli tyre that would get me good drive off the line and it worked every time.”Styke agreed that his performance in the last race could have been better.“I did what was needed and it’s hard to be angry about a round win and increasing my lead in the championship,” he said.Styke’s Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racing teammate, Kirk Gibbs, showed the five week break had done little to slow his speed. Two thirds and a sixth place in the three moto final saw him stand alongside Styke on the podium in second place.Still not 100 per cent over his wrist injury, Gibbs was at least able to grip the bike and fight for position much stronger than in the opening half of the series.Team manager, Michael Marty applauded his team on a successful day and said it was a significant result for the team.“The track was tough today, and the riders did an exceptional job,” he said.“The mechanics put in a huge effort to keep the bikes in top shape and achieve the results we did.”Styke will now turn his attention to Horsham in Victoria for round seven of the MX Nationals in two weeks time.Championship standings after Round Six1st Luke Styke – 374, 2nd Ford Dale – 328, 3rd Cheyne Boyd – 297, 4th Josh Cachia – 296, 5th Kirk Gibbs – 284.This story Administrator ready to work first appeared on 苏州美甲培训学校.
