Green thumbs get an early start

GARDEN GANG: Enjoying the new vegie gardens at Callala Preschool.IT was like watching an old episode of Backyard Blitz when a team of volunteers from Bunnings created a vegetable garden at Callala Preschool on Wednesday.The vegie garden is part of Bunnings’ community projects. Co-ordinator Robyn Quigley had six staff members who volunteered their time to build three gardens at the preschool.“It’s a great way to help educate children about food and a good way for Bunnings to give back to the community,” she said.Preschool owner Lisa Delaney said she was pleasantly surprised by the gesture.“I didn’t expect it to be this good,” she said.“For the staff to give up their time like this is fantastic.”Produce from the vegie gardens will be used at the preschool and given to the children to take home.This story Administrator ready to work first appeared on Nanjing Night Net.
