Man pleads guilty to stealing from construction site

BREAKING into a Woolworths and Target construction site and stealing tools resulted in four months behind bars for a St Georges Basin man.In Nowra Local Court Mathew Brian Pinchen, 29, of Claylands Drive, pleaded guilty to breaking, entering and stealing from the Ulladulla site.At 1.30am on August 4 last year, a security guard doing his rounds saw a Daihatsu Charade parked outside an abandoned motel at the corner of South Street and the Princes Highway. Its registration plates were covered in tape which the guard removed before reporting the matter to Ulladulla Police.Ten minutes later police saw the Charade heading to Milton. As they approached, the driver turned off into a petrol station.Police followed and found a screwdriver with a bent tip, a balaclava, power tools, hand tools and office equipment in the car.Pinchen told police he was a construction worker and the tools were his.He told police he’d been looking for girls.A short time later police found a door forced open at the ADCO Construction building opposite the abandoned motel in South Street, a broken padlock on the ground and a ransacked office. The following day the victims supplied statements in which they said the Woolworths and Target construction site had been broken into the night before.A key had been used to access the locked site container and Pinchen had worked there previously as the employee of a contractor.Pinchen was arrested on August 12 and this time he said the tools weren’t his as he didn’t own the Charade. This story Administrator ready to work first appeared on Nanjing Night Net.
