Police stopped the 48-year-old man as he was driving his silver Daewoo Lanos north on Cowper St at 7.45pm last Saturday.

The breath test proved positive, according to police. He was arrested and searched before being taken to the station.

During the search the accused produced a plastic resealable bag from his track pants pocket and reportedly told police it contained heroin.

A breath analysis back at the station returned a .090grams of alcohol in 210 litres of breath.

The man’s licence was suspended and during a subsequent interview admitted to possessing heroin for personal use.

He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice and ordered to appear before Goulburn Local Court on July 25.
